El fabricante de juguetes Josef Hoblík crea una tarde una marioneta de Adolf Hitler. Sin embargo, un miembro de las SS que pasea por la calle ve algo sospechoso y se cuela en el taller de Hoblík. El maestro arroja al dictador de madera a la chimenea y escapa por la ventana.
Toy maker Josef Hoblík makes a puppet of Adolf Hitler one evening. However, an SS man who is walking down the street, sees something suspicious and sneaks into Hoblík’s workshop. The master throws the wooden dictator into the fireplace and escapes through the window.

Una diligencia atraviesa la pradera portando a una hermosa joven y a su padre. Un jinete cantante, un hábil pistolero, aparece junto al carruaje, le confiesa su amor a la bella y luego vuelve a desaparecer en la naturaleza salvaje. En un desfiladero, un astuto desconocido sube a la diligencia y comienza a seducir a la joven.
A stagecoach is driving across the prairie, carrying a beautiful girl and her father. A singing rider, a skilled gunslinger, appears next to the carriage, confesses his love to the beauty, and then disappears into the wilderness again. In a gorge, a sly stranger boards the stagecoach and begins to seduce the girl.

Abiadura handiarekiko zaletasuna jaioberriengan ere ikus daiteke ia gaur egun. Filmak erakusten du zaletasun hori, kontrolatu ezean, autosuntsitzailea eta suizida ere izan daitekeela. Horrela aurkezten du behintzat Trnkak istorio satiriko honetan.
Hoy en día, la pasión por la velocidad se puede observar incluso en los recién nacidos. En la película se muestra que esa pasión, si no se controla, es autodestructiva e incluso suicida. Así, al menos, lo presenta Trnka en esta historia satírica.
The passion for high speed can nowadays almost be seen in the new-born. The film shows that such passion, if not controlled, is self-destructing and even suicidal. At least this is the way Trnka presents it in this satiric story.

An anti-war film with a strong pacifist appeal, it warns that human history has been intertwined with violence and warfare since the dawn of time, from the caveman with a club to the atomic bomb, which can completely destroy all civilisational efforts.

Neska batek jostailu berriak aurkitzen ditu Eguberrietako zuhaitzaren azpian eta orain arte gustukoen zuen trapuzko panpinarekiko interesa galtzen du. Iluntzean ohera sartzen da. Panpina bizidun bihurtzen da ametsetan eta lagunaren bihotza berreskuratzen saiatzen da.
Una niña encuentra juguetes nuevos bajo el árbol de Navidad y pierde todo interés por su marioneta de trapo, que antes era su favorita. Al anochecer, se va a la cama. La marioneta del niño cobra vida en su sueño e intenta recuperar el corazón de su amiga.
A girl finds new toys under the Christmas tree and loses all interest in her previously favourite rag puppet. She goes to bed in the evening. The boy puppet comes to life in her dream and tries to regain the heart of his friend.
