ANTONIO DE LA TORRE

Estudió interpretación con Cristina Rota y compaginó sus primeros trabajos en cine y televisión con su labor como periodista deportivo en Canal Sur Televisión.

En su filmografía figuran más de 80 títulos que le convierten en uno de los actores más prolíficos y solicitados de nuestro cine. Ha trabajado con Pedro Almodóvar, Daniel Sánchez Arévalo, Álex de la Iglesia, Icíar Bollaín o Steven Soderbergh, entre otros directores.

Su interpretación en la ópera prima de Daniel Sánchez Arévalo ‘Azuloscurocasinegro’ le valió el Premio Goya al Mejor Actor de Reparto, el Premio de la Unión de Actores y el Premio al Mejor Actor en el Festival de Toulousse. Protagonizó su segunda película ‘Gordos’ por la que estuvo nominado al Goya al Mejor Actor Protagonista. Habitual del cine de Sánchez Arévalo participó en ‘Primos’ y pronto le veremos en ‘La Gran Familia Española’. Ha trabajado con Pedro Almodóvar en ‘Volver’ y ‘Los Amantes Pasajeros’. Además ha participado recientemente en la producción francesa ‘F2014’, dirigida por Frédéric Auburtin, con Gérard Depardieu.

Ha estado nominado al Goya al Mejor Actor por ‘Balada Triste de Trompeta’ y ‘Grupo 7’ y como Mejor Actor de Reparto por ‘Invasor’.

‘Caníbal’ supone su cuarta colaboración con Manuel Martín Cuenca después de haber rodado con el ‘La Mitad de Óscar’, la TV Movie ‘El Tesoro’ y el cortometraje ‘Hombres Sin Mujeres’.

Studied acting with Cristina Rota and combined his early work in film and television with his job as a sports journalist for Canal Sur Televisión.

His filmography contains over 80 titles, making him one of the most prolific and sought after actors in Spanish film. He has worked with such directors as Pedro Almodóvar, Daniel Sánchez Arévalo, Álex de la Iglesia, Icíar Bollaín and Steven Soderbergh, among others.

His performance in Daniel Sánchez Arévalo’s directing debut ‘Darkbluealmostblack’ earned him the Goya Award for Best Supporting Actor, the Actor’s Union Award and the Best Actor Award at the Toulouse Film Festival. His second starring film, ‘Fat People’, garnered him a Goya Award nomination for Best Male Lead. A regular in Sánchez Arévalo’s films, he also participated in ‘Cousinhood’ and we will soon see him in the upcoming ‘My Family and Other Hooligans’. De la Torre worked with Pedro Almodóvar on ‘Volver’ and most recently on ‘I’m So Excited’. He has also recently participated in the French production ‘F2014’, directed by Frédéric Auburtin, with Gérard Depardieu.

Nominated for a Best Male Lead Goya for ‘The Last Circus’, this past year his performances in ‘Unit 7’ and ‘Invader’ were once again recognized by the Academy with nominations for Best Male Lead and Best Supporting Actor, respectively.

‘Cannibal’ is his fourth collaboration with Manuel Martín Cuenca after shooting ‘Half of Oscar’ and the made-for-TV movie ‘El Tesoro’ with him, as well as the short film ‘Hombres Sin Mujeres’.

OLIMPIA MELINTE

Olimpia Melinte, natural de Rumania, empezó su carrera profesional en el teatro de la Universidad Octav Bancila, donde debutó en el papel de Wendla en ‘Spring Awakening’, de Frank Wedekind, bajo la dirección del actor Nicholas Ionescu. Con este papel consiguió el premio de Mejor Actriz en el Teatro Nacional Olímpico, Timisoara 2005.

Estudió interpretación en la Facultad de Artes George Enescu y debutó en el cine con la película ‘Floating things’ dirigida por Mircea Daneliuc en 2009 con la que consiguió dos nominaciones a los Premios Nacionales de la industria cinematográfica Rumana GOPO 2010 en las categorías de Mejor Actriz y Esperanza Joven.

En 2011 fue elegida entre 250 actrices para interpretar el papel de Luminita Sette en ‘Seven Acts of Mercy’, dirigida por Massimiliano y Gianluca de Serio, con la que ganó el Premio a la Mejor Actriz en el Festival de Cine de Bobbio, Italia. Esta película cosechó numerosos premios en festivales internacionales y ha consagrado a Olimpia como una actriz muy versátil, que habla cuatro idiomas y ha trabajado en diversas producciones.

‘Caníbal’ es su primer trabajo en España.

Olimpia Melinte, born in Romania, started her professional career in the Octav Bancila University theatre, where she made her debut as Wendla in Frank Wedekind’s ‘Spring Awakening’, directed by actor Nicholas Ionescu. For this role she received the Best Actress Award at the National Olimpic Theater, Timisoara in 2005.

After studying Performing Arts at the George Enescu Arts Faculty she made her film debut in 2009 in ‘Floating Things’, directed by Mircea Daneliuc. For this work, she received two nominations at the Romanian Film Industry GOPO Awards as Best Actress and Best Newcomer in 2010.

In 2011 she was selected among 250 actresses for the leading role in Massimiliano and Gianluca de Serio’s Italian-language feature film ‘Seven Acts of Mercy’, which got her a Best Actress Award at the Bobbio film Festival in Italy. This film obtained ample recognition in international Festivals, and established Olimpia as a versatile actress able to play in four different languages.

‘Cannibal’ is her first experience in Spain.
